ECCLESIASTES 3 – ‘A Season is set for everything, a time for every experience under heaven’…….
The is an old Sufi saying ‘Die many times before you die.’ From our first breath to our last there is a space. Yet we are kept in the dark as to the amount of space we are each allotted.
As Shakespeare once said ‘All the world is a stage and we are the players’. Yet we are kept in the dark as to how to actually play.
I say: We are approaching the coming of a New Year with the opportunity to die to the moments we’ve left behind for the experience of a rebirth. Sometimes it can feel like we are coming home; returning to our true selves. Forsaking the harshness we may have experienced over the year for something of higher value. It takes courage and strength of heart, but trust me my friends, home is inside of you.
There too is a saying which I shall leave you with: “Then close your eyes and tap your heels together 3 times, and think to yourself, there’s no place like home.” (L. Frank Baum, ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz”)
